Das Art Critics Orchestra (ACO) besteht aus vier Musikern, die alle in der Kunstwelt aktiv sind und sich seit über zwanzig Jahren mit ihrer musikalisch schwer fassbaren und trotzig tanzbaren Musik bei ihr revanchieren. Ihr Live-Repertoire umfasst eine Sammlung von Künstlerliedern, die von internationalen Künstlern wie Øystein Aasan, Dave Allen, Christian Jankowski, Elke Krystufek, Karin Sander, Ross Sinclair und Annika Ström speziell für das ACO geschrieben wurden, sowie eigene Kompositionen und natürlich auch politische Songs. ACO vereint dafür die Talente von Catherine Lorent (Gitarre und Gesang), Micz Flor (Gitarre und Gesang), Raimar Stange (Bass, kein Gesang) und Andreas Schlaegel (Schlagzeug und Gesang). Nun arbeitet das ACO an neuen Songs, die von einer jüngeren Generation von Künstlern für sie geschrieben wurden, darunter beispielsweise "I'm a Woman" von Keren Cytter und "Kunst am Bau" von Catherine Lorent. Das ACO wird dieses neue Programm diesen Sommer an verschiedenen Orten zum ersten Mal vorstellen.

The Art Critics Orchestra (ACO) consists of four musicians, all active in the art world, who have been responding to it with their musically elusive yet defiantly danceable music for over twenty years. Their live repertoire features a collection of artist songs written especially for ACO by international artists, alongside their own compositions and, naturally, a few political songs. ACO brings together the talents of Catherine Lorent (guitar and vocals), Micz Flor (guitar and vocals), Raimar Stange (bass, no vocals), and Andreas Schlaegel (drums and vocals). The songs on their first album were written exclusively for the band by artists such as Øystein Aasan, Dave Allen, Christian Jankowski, Elke Krystufek, Karin Sander, Ross Sinclair, and Annika Ström. Following a major retrospective at Kindl, Berlin, two years ago, ACO is now working on new songs written for them by a younger generation of artists, including, for example, "I'm a Woman" by Keren Cytter and "Kunst am Bau" by their very own Catherine Lorent. This summer, ACO will present this new program at various venues.
